A Few Things Worth Knowing Before You Pack

FABRIC FIRST

June in Alexandria is warm and humid. Linen is your best friend across every category — it breathes, it looks intentional even when wrinkled, and it transitions well from afternoon to evening. Cotton poplin and eyelet work in its place. Skip anything synthetic.

THE SHOE SITUATION

Old Town Alexandria is beautiful and the cobblestones will humble a stiletto. A leather sandal with real structure, a flat or low block-heel for evenings, and clean sneakers or loafers for daytime cover every situation on this list. Two pairs of shoes handles the whole weekend.
